Moors and Christians begin Mig Any with the new blessing of flags

February 20 from 2017 - 20: 41

Week Mig Any de Moors and Christians has begun in Denia with the novelty of the blessing of flags, an act created with the intention of giving more prominence to the flag-bearers of each side. This Monday afternoon, in the Church of the Assumption, the highest offices of this year gathered to preside over the blessing.

The parish priest of the church, Francisco Revert, began by explaining what types of flags are blessed and the importance of this act. And is that, although it is a party, it is still rooted in Catholicism to be held in honor of Sant Roc.

The capitants, Maria José López and Kiko Sentí, accompanied by their standard bearers, Salva Gil and Alicia Sentí, presided over this blessing of flags together with the president of the FEMMICC, Miguel Ángel Fullana. Along with them were the representatives of the brotherhood and the mayorales of Sant Roc, as well as festive men and women from both sides.

Acts of Mig Any continued with the inauguration of the exhibition of children's drawings in the Municipal House of Culture, whose prizes will be awarded next Wednesday during the presentation of captains to be held from the 20: 30 hours in the Social Center of Dénia.
