06 March 2018 - 00: 23

Moisés Espinós, cyclist of Jesús Pobre, of the Velosol Cycling Team was the winner of the Bellreguard stage, a time trial that was played in the beach area. The penultimate stage of the "Volta Ciclista a la Marina", had a share of 59 runners. The Velosol rider was the fastest in the urban circuit of 5 total kilometers scoring a time of 6 minutes and 25 seconds.

The second place went to Francesc Boscá, winner of the last edition of the Volta. No one surprised his performance, because he is in an ideal state of form. But undoubtedly the runner who got the most out of Bellreguard was Álvaro Arenas Guillén from Alicante. In the absence of a stage, that of Pedreguer, is leader of the Volta in addition to leading the prize of the Mountain and the classification of First Alicante. Arenas already touches with his fingers the victory in this classic cycling event.

Highlight the second place of Thomas Scheffer, the team Multiesport-UCMontgó in Master 30 and the third place, Juani Arroyo, of this same team in Master 40.

In the classification by teams in this stage the dianense training, of the Velosol Cyclim Team was the best, being the Multiesport-UCM second, although in the general classification this team continues to lead the classification.

The anecdote of the day was played by Javier Almela, who suffered a mechanical breakdown on the exit ramp and despite this managed to save the race and keep the TOP TEN of the Volta La Marina General Classification.

Anti-doping control in the Volta a la Marina

For the first time in the history of the Volta, there was anti-doping control. The first three classified had to pass the corresponding tests so at the time of collecting jerseys and cups could not be on the podium and the final protocol act was a bit lackluster.
