Fifty people demonstrate in Dénia for the rights of war refugees

Organized by Moviment per la pau, the demonstration was supported by fifty people, among whom we could see members of the Anti-Suicide Platform, numerous individuals and some members of the Socialist Party like the councilmen Óscar Mengual y Cristina Morera; the mayor of the Xara, Maite Pérez Conejer; or the deputy in Les Corts Rosa Falastín Mustafá.

The demonstration, which started half an hour late, came from the Plaza del Consell and toured the Cop and Marques de Campo streets to the Red Cross building, which was read in Valencian and Castilian, the following statement:

Since September 2015, the number of people fleeing from Syria over four million, seven million six hundred thousand have fled to other places within the country, ie, more than half of the population have fled their homes. To which we must add all people elsewhere in the world have been forced to leave their habitat for economic reasons and war.

Meanwhile, European governments are distracted in sterile meetings and governments of NATO countries are trained to make war. In Europe, tens of thousands of refugees from the wars in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan call our doors and some countries close them in their noses. All because of a war which, remember, were fed or even initiated by the US, its allies and Russia, and thanks to their criminal actions today have become ungovernable countries where chaos reigns.

WHERE NOT WANT TO ACHIEVE THE SHARES PUTTING DETERMINATION

Syria's case is paradigmatic. Some (Russia) help the regime of Bashar al-Assad, others (USA, Turkey and other NATO countries) initially helped the rebels and now bombard and perhaps later the invading military intervention. Each other with their bombings have killed and punished civilians and facilitated more than 240.000 now dead and four million refugees fleeing war. Now the US and Russia say they will talk, but while the international community does not carry out political initiatives to stop the war, which facilitates the spread of atrocities.

WHERE TO GET THE STATES DO NOT WANT PUTTING SOLIDARITY

This leads us to suspect that the military maneuvers Trident Juncture 2015 NATO in Spain can be targeted, out not only out attacks, but also invade any country, perhaps Syria, an African country, or simply provide a military escalation Russia, which is tantamount to opening the doors to a new cold war and the possibility of armed conflict on European soil between nuclear powers.

Social movements and public opinion should be mobilized against these maneuvers of NATO. Do not forget that NATO is tasked with resolving conflicts by use of force (war); which it is the maximum world power causing the arms race; insistently demand increased military spending. So you have to ask public policies in favor of peace, of peaceful resolution of conflicts, disarmament and international humanitarian law, and in this sense, to host people fleeing our wars.

NATO during the month of October to November 6 held military maneuvers Trident Juncture 2015, in Spain, Italy and Portugal. They participate 30.000 30 effective countries, 20.000 of which will be deployed in Spain, for the purpose of performing operations on a large scale intervention against third countries. These maneuvers will be the largest made in southern Europe and will take place in different parts of Spanish territory.

The Trident Juncture 2015, which will take place in Spain, adds to two recent dangers. One in the maritime base of Rota (Cádiz), where the US has installed destroyers with the anti-missile shield that they tell us will serve to protect us from attacks. Spain is currently a source country of migrants. 2009 and 2014 from 700.000 over Spaniards have taken up residence abroad, surpassing January 2015 two million emigrants. All international organizations (UNHCR, Amnesty International, Red Cross ...) denounce this situation, but governments are lost in bureaucratic and procedural intricacies knowing that with that just manage to give back to the problem and that disaster was perpetuated while facilitating the use and misuse of weapons benefiting multinationals, led in some cases former ministers future.
