It all started this summer, when the Dianense athlete chose Kenya to spend her holidays in Íten, the high performance center located at 2400 meters high in the Rift Valley. With this experience, Mayca saw two of her dreams come true: on the one hand, seeing how the Kenyat Ateltas train, considered the best athletes in the background and half a world athletics; and on the other, see closely the customs and way of life of the population. In addition, together with her teammates from Valencia, Mayca brought school materials to one of the schools in the town.
It was at the High Performance Center where Mayca became friends with a French athlete, who invited him to participate in the Cambrai race of 5.000 meters. Last weekend this race took place, in which Mayca got a meritorious third place in the general standings and very good feelings before the start of the season.
