Next Saturday, April 23, after the pause forced by the pandemic, which led to the suspension of two editions of the Circuit a Peu de la Marina, the running party returns to the streets of Dénia with the Volta a Peu. The organization, the Dénia Corre club, with the collaboration of the Department of Sports of the Dénia City Council, anticipates an attendance of more than 1.300 athletes of all ages, between the children's races (from 16:00 p.m.) and the test main (with departure scheduled at 18:30).

The starting and finishing point for the runners will once again be located on Carrer del Marqués de Campo (approximately at the height of the site of the old ambulatory).

The president of Dénia Corre, Jordi Jorro, and other members of the board met yesterday with the councilor Raúl García de la Reina to close the last details of the coordination of the test with the Local Police of Dénia and Civil Protection. From this year's test, which also means celebrating the return to the streets of the popular runners, Jorro has highlighted the points of animation that the athletes will find along the route, thanks to the collaboration of casales falleros, party groups, gangs of friends, rows of Moors and Christians, etc. "A call for participation that has been very well received and that we want to consolidate for future editions."

As for the route, the Volta a Peu de Dénia is a test with little incline and a great attraction since it borders emblematic places such as the maritime façade and the wall of the castle. As in previous years, the trophies for the queen event have been made by the Aprosdeco students, with the sponsorship of the Dénia Foundation.

There will be a cloakroom service in the finish area and showers for after the race at the Maristas school.
The municipal head of Sports has recalled that "Dénia joined the Regional Circuit in 2016, a challenge that had to be taken on and that has been consolidated and made great with the merger of the different clubs and informal groups of runners to the great family that is now Dénia Corre, an entity with the capacity to organize an event such as the Volta a Peu and combo in this adventure to sponsors and collaborators, such as Baleària, the Dénia Foundation and the City Council, and many companies that support it”.

Registration is open until midnight today, Thursday, April 21, at the website.
