The Department of Education, Culture and Sports keeps an exhaustive monitoring of the first day of class for Valencian students. It should be remembered that this course contemplates a forecast of 794.243 students, about 4.000 more than in the past, and that the regions of Castellón exceed 94.400 schoolchildren, those of Valencia are close to 411.000 and those of Alicante exceed 288.800 students and female students.
The Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, Vicent Marzà, highlighted that "We return with the maximum possible security and with the certainty that the educational contribution to society is more necessary than ever. Students deserve to return to the classroom after six months, at the beginning of the course marked by safety in the classrooms , where we will have to overcome many obstacles, but we have been preparing this moment for months and we want to thank the enormous work done by the Valencian educational community ".
Marzà added that "The balance of the entrance to the educational centers this morning has been positive, and the joint responsibility of ensuring the return to the classrooms in a safe manner has been fulfilled to the maximum, by all parties. We need to continue like this, following the guidelines set for comply with the established safety, protection and hygiene measures ".
99,7% of educational centers have opened for 99,8% of students. At the same time, more than 3.000 new cafeteria monitors have been hired to be able to take more shifts and allow students to eat in the classroom, thus ensuring that safety distances are maintained.
