Marina de Dénia repeats Blue Flag this year

Marina de Denia succeeds in repeating the prestigious badge of the Blue flag awarded by an international jury chaired by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). In this way, Dénia has 2 ports with this award, plus 6 beaches.

In addition to the Dénia Marina, the Association of Sports and Tourist Ports of the Valencian Community, the association to which it belongs, has achieved 2 Blue Flags in the province, one in Marina Deportiva de Alicante and another, this time new, in the Port Sports and Tourism Marina Greenwich (Altea).

"At a time like the present, in which we are making great efforts to return to normality and for nautical tourism in the Valencian Community to position itself in its rightful place, this news helps us to move forward. We are aware of the effort and dedication involved in obtaining a blue flag and that is why from here I want to congratulate the winners ”, says Gabriel Martínez, president of the Association of Sports and Tourist Ports of the Valencian Community.

With regard to the blue flags awarded to the beaches, the Valencian Community leads the ranking with 137, followed by Andalusia and Galicia with 115 and 114 respectively, and Catalonia with 97. It should be noted that of the 676 beaches that are candidates for the Blue Flag in 2021 (14 more than last year), have 615 have been awarded. The beaches of the municipalities where the ports of the Association are located have obtained a blue flag.

In Alicante, Dénia where El Portet de Dénia and Marina de Dénia are located, in Xàbia, Marina Nou Fontana, in Altea, Portosenso and Marina Greenwich, in Alicante, Marina Deportiva Alicante, in Santa Pola, Marina Miramar, in Torrevieja, Marina Salinas and in Orihuela, Marina Cabo Roig. In Castellón, in Benicarló, Marina Benicarló, in Castellón, Marina Port Castelló and in Burriana, Burriananova. In Valencia, La Pobla de Farnals, Pobla Marina.

Practically all the marinas of the Valencian Community are associated with the Association, united with the firm intention of continuing to work to achieve its main objectives: respect for the environment, creation of wealth for society, job creation, tourism development nautical and development of social nautical. In fact, the president of the Association, Gabriel Martínez, visited each of the marinas to present them with the flag of good environmental practices, recognition that implies the work that ports do every day to respect the environment. "We are convinced that thanks to the work we do from our companies, we add value to the municipalities and that is rewarded with achievements such as obtaining the blue flags," says Martínez.
