May 24 from 2021 - 14: 33

The Mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, the Councilor for Culture of the Dénia City Council, Raúl David García, the director of Marina Dénia, Gabriel Martínez, the sculptor Toni Marí and the member of the jury, Nicolás Merle, presented this morning the 15rd edition of the exhibition “Sculptures facing the sea”. The works will be exhibited on the Paseo del Puerto Deportivo y Turístico Marina Dénia from July 11 to October XNUMX.

The deadline for submission of works for this contest opens today and ends on June 29. All artists who wish can participate, both individually and collectively. The theme and technique of the work are free. The first prize is endowed with 1.500 euros, the second with 1.000 euros and the third with 500 euros.

“The two previous shows have been very successful and the artists have felt tremendously welcomed. This has led us to participate in this edition, in addition to sculptors from the region, also from other parts of Spain and even international ones. Another novelty is that we will make groups with school children so that they can come to the exhibition and that an artist can tell them about each of the works on display ”, Gabriel Martínez pointed out.

The sculptor and organizer of the show, Toni Marí, wanted to thank Marina Dénia for this initiative “in which all the artists feel very comfortable and there are more and more who want to join. It is a way in which sculptors can show their work in a privileged place. I also want to thank the Dénia City Council for the support provided since the first edition ”. For his part, Nicolás Merle, has said that he feels very happy to be here again, “it means that he has a permanence that is to bet on culture in a setting facing the Mediterranean. What better way than to walk among the sculptures in Marina Dénia ”.

Finally, Vicent Grimalt has assured that “both the councilor and I want to thank Marina Dénia for continuing to bet on culture. In a third edition that we hope can be less restrictive than last year and that people can enjoy this space ”.
