María Mut finally speaks up and expresses her disappointment: "People in parties are expendable"

May 26 from 2023 - 12: 53

"Today, with great regret, I say goodbye after three terms of Dénia that have contributed so much to me on a personal level." Thus began the last press conference of María Mut, spokesperson for the municipal group of Party and still president of the party in Dénia. Although he does not trust that it can last long.

The popular leader, during this legislature, has summoned the media this Friday to say goodbye, and in part to vent. She had been silent for several months after it was revealed that she would be replaced in these elections by Pepa Font. Something that caught him by surprise because no one told him. He found out on the street and in the press. "We found out about rebound." During this time she has felt hurt, she says, especially by her group. "It seems to me that things have gone wrong."

According to Mut, there was never an option to be part of the current list due to irreparable discrepancies with the current candidate. "Neither Pepa wanted me on her team, nor did I want to work with her," she pointed out, recalling that she already had experience working with Pepa Font in past legislatures, and was not willing to repeat.

María Mut affirms that she is disappointed with the treatment received despite having worked hard this legislature and with great results, which she indicates will surely benefit the party this 28M.

"Neither Pepa wanted to work with me, nor I with her"

She found out that she was going to be replaced, as we anticipated, "by rebound". Nobody notified him. "I would have warned her, as a person," she expressed, alluding to Font, because that is how she defends having acted when it was her turn to replace Ana Kringe. However, when he found out, the first thing he thought about was what would happen to his councilors. He felt great relief to find out that they would still be on the list and that they would count on them, especially José Antonio Cristóbal who repeats as number two.

Despite all this, he believes that the PP will get a good result this Sunday. Much of the merit he considers to be the work done by his team in opposition. But he also assumes that the Popular Party is in a better moment than when she arrived. Although she does not entirely agree with the way of understanding politics and campaigning of her successor: "You achieve more in consensus than by facing the opposite."

"First of all there are the people, not the parties"

In this sense, he admits that this candidacy has managed to reach many points in common even with the PSPV, who would be his main rival. More than in any other legislature. “We have filed many joint motions.”

He does not understand why the decision was made and why that was the way to act. "First of all there are the people, not the parties," he considers. But he took it and now he has decided that he will not return to Dianense politics for a while. "Not in these circumstances", because, according to the popular one, "unfortunately, people in parties become expendable elements."

Despite all this, he reaffirms that his party will always be the PP. "No one will throw me out of it," he declares.

During his speech, which has been followed by both his groupmates over the years and by the spokesperson for Ciudadanos, Susana Mut, he had words of gratitude for Pepe Ciscar, Ana Kringe, of whom he claims to have been "lucky to find her in her way», and Isabel Bonig, who was the leader of the PP in the Valencian Community and who, according to Mut, has been unfairly and cruelly mistreated by the party.

He has wished his teammates the best, thanking them for everything they have given him during this time. And, above all, to his family: "My great joy is knowing that now I will be able to spend much more time with them."

María, you are a wonderful person and never doubt it.

Look how in Calpe, if the PP treats its people like this, with this lack of professionalism and respect, how do you think they have to treat the rest of us? Like the bullying bosses they have always been, a disastrous and decadent image.
