The councilor of culture of the City of Dénia, Rafa Carrió, said that the writer is "fully deserving of this honorary title" because he was able to literaturizar geography and society of Dénia in the first half of the twentieth century.

During the plenary, he thanked the support of the people and entities that have supported the project, among which are several town councils in the region, libraries and associations of the Marina Alta. He also stressed the importance of the collaboration of the IES María Ibars, the MACMA, the IECMA and the Ruta dels Riuraus.
