"Mar D`il.lusió" was the champion of the Pagell Fishing Contest held by the Dénia Royal Yacht Club. A day complicated by the wind that left several vessels on land. Others, overcame the difficulties and managed to go out to the sea and return with more than 3 kilos of Pagells.
The fishermen entered the port at 13´30 hours to weigh their catches in front of the jury and the participants. The first positions and winners were "Mar d`Il.lusió", by Juan Ferrer Salines, with 3.180 grams proclaiming the winner of the contest.
The boat "Nerissa" by Juan José Lidón that achieved a total weight of 2.715 grams that led him to be the second and Carlos Salvador Fornés, was the winner of the major piece, with a Pagell of 440 grams.
To close the Championship, trophies were handed out by Toni Vidal, sports director, Maite Cabrera (XALOC), sponsor of the contest, José Lidón, fishing vocalist and Fernando Calatayud, RCND manager.
At the end of the day, all participants and companions enjoyed a meal organized by the RCN Dénia at the VoraMar Restaurant.
