Wineries and wine producers of the region met yesterday in Ondara to discuss the lines that will guide the next Saturday 6 of April in the Prado II Wine Fair of the Marina Alta.

A meeting that is preceded by a wine fair that Ondara hosted in 2017 within the framework of the III Fira Marina Alta coordinated by the MACMA and that raised the need to establish a framework of support and cohesion to all the wines produced in the region .

In this sense, this new wine festival will be organized by the City Council of Ondara, taking up the relay and message of the regional fair of 2017. "At least, this new project gives continuity to the initiative and complements the original objective of disseminating and positioning a product as vertebrate for the region as it is wine in a location as symbolic as the Prado, an emblematic and neuralgic agricultural market for the Marina Alta set ", said José Ramiro, Mayor of Ondara and Councilor for Economic Promotion.

As for the meeting with the vintners, José Ramiro was the host of the attendees when contextualizing the idea of scheduling the fair in the IV Fira de la Paraula & la Bona Taula -which includes a Mercat de la Terra and a book fair, among other activities, to be held at the same 6 in April, the day when the main act of the program will be the performance of the singers Jonatan Penalba and Maria del Mar Bonet in the Plaza de Toros.

In summary, a games fair to learn about our wines and bring them closer to consumers. Precepts that will be developed throughout the whole Saturday 6 of April -from the 11 hours in the morning and until the 22 hours of the night- through wine tastings that will show the characteristics of the wines within the respective stands of the wineries, which will occupy El Prado in a circular itinerary.

On the other hand, the proposal and main incentive of the fair will be based on a Passaport dels Vins de la Marina -document that will be presented soon- that the attendees will buy inside the same enclosure, next to the relevant glass screenprinted for the event, and that will allow to test the wines of each winery and thus fill the corresponding space designated within the passport.

A fair that aims, in the words of José Ramiro, "To claim the historical role of Ondara and the Prado as axes of agri-food distribution within the commercial map of the Marina Alta".
