On Monday afternoon, and when four days had passed since the residents of Les Rotes lived hours of anguish, those affected in that area by the Montgó fire met to talk about the necessary improvements so that the panic situations that occurred during the evacuation of the area on Thursday afternoon are not relived.
According to the neighbors denounce, the chaotic evacuation of the area forced to wait around 2 hours and a half the arrival of firefighters, since the only exit road was the road of Les Rotes, a narrow area that makes difficult the passage.
That is why in the meeting they had agreed on some points to move to the municipal consistory to avoid situations such as those experienced during the fire.
In the first place, the neighbors will demand an evacuation plan from Les Rotes for emergencies that will help them not to live again moments of panic and chaos; a perimietral firewall in the Lloma del Castanyar area that makes it difficult for the fire to reach the housing area and that the City Councils, both in Dénia and in Jávea, oblige the owners to keep their plots clean. Regarding this last request, the neighbors added that the owners who do not do so should be punished by collecting the IBI from the plot as if it were built.
They also add to their demands the creation of a surveillance unit on the road to Cabo de San Antonio that is operational during the hottest months of the year and that the Generalitat Valenciana is asked to install a permanent base for the helicopters. Air tractor in Dénia or in Jávea.
That those of Montgo - Rotes have the same benefits to those of Rotes, that is, those located on the road to the Montgo or those on the road to the sea, since we pay the same taxes and have been punished for a long time with the damn PRl - ROTES-MONTGO.
