The basic pediatric resuscitation workshops will begin on Wednesday, March 23 in Marina Dénia

10 March 2022 - 13: 44

Next Wednesday, March 23, the basic pediatric resuscitation workshops will begin, which will be carried out by the San Carlos Hospital, through the collaboration agreement with Marina Dénia. This training is completely free and is aimed at families or people who care for children. “Here in the port we are obliged to carry out courses constantly and we realized that, in this very touristic region, with the sea so close, there was a gap in this sense, and that is why we proposed to the San Carlos Hospital to carry out this initiative, which is a very useful and important social task”, said Gabriel Martínez, director of Marina Dénia.

The workshops will be given by Dr. Antonia Ivars, who is part of the pediatric team at Hospital San Carlos. “Thank you very much for launching this initiative since I consider it very important to educate the population on the subject of basic pulmonary resuscitation. Fortunately, the incidence in pediatrics is not very high, but it is true that every year there is an estimated incidence of between two and eight cases per 10.000 children. The need for citizens to learn basic resuscitation maneuvers can improve the survival and prognosis of these children. Incidents can be dealt with without the need for any special material, just a few basic notions, since advanced resuscitation is carried out by the medical team. Only if someone can take care of a child the first five minutes after the arrest, that will improve survival and the final prognosis”.

The first workshop will be held on Wednesday, March 23, at 18:966 p.m., at the Marina Dénia facilities. They are free and will have a theoretical part and a practical part through clinical simulation. "The ultimate goal is to save children who may go into cardiorespiratory arrest." Registrations can be made by calling 424 307 XNUMX or by email at secretaria@marinadedenia.com

For his part, Gerson Morales thanked Marina Dénia for this initiative “this day marks the new normality to be able to carry out these actions in person. The idea is to give it continuity and to be able to offer other formations. In the hospital we dedicate ourselves to healing when something happens, but we also seek to prevent certain events”.
