The bars have reopened, the terraces are filling up and life returns, little by little, to the city. However, the misleading image of "everything is fine" hides the remains of those businesses that have not been able to survive the restrictions.
As soon as we notice walking through the streets of Dénia, we realize that, yes, the bars have returned ... but not all.
The health crisis has required an overexertion of many companies that sometimes have not been able to resist. These, for several months and in order for us to be able to stop the coronavirus, have had to lower the blinds, making it impossible for them to recover and, therefore, having to leave them down forever.
Every few corners you can see a For Sale, Rent or Transfer sign in what used to be living businesses. They are the ones who have sacrificed to avoid the dramatic non-material damage that the pandemic brings.
And this for three grandparents who were going to die anyway 🙁
