Residents can now apply for a postal vote in local elections

The Ministry of Interior, through its website, informs that the deadline has been opened so that those Spanish or European citizens residing in Spain can request the vote by mail for the local elections next month. They have the May 14 deadline.

Voters can go to a post office and request the form to vote by mail. After completing it, they will deliver it again to a postal employee, identifying themselves with their ID, passport or driver's license. From there, the request will be sent to the Electoral Census Office, which makes the corresponding entry in the census lists. Residents in Dénia who vote by mail will not be able to exercise their vote personally.

Vote-by-mail

The Electoral Census Office will send by registered mail to the address indicated an envelope with a ballot of each political formations that arise on voting, certificate of registration in the census on the address of the table where would correspond vote and explanatory sheet.

Once the voter has chosen the ballot paper for each process, he will enter it in the corresponding voting envelope (or he will not include a ballot if he wishes to vote in blank) and he will close it. The envelope will also include the certificate addressed to the Board and will be sent by certified mail no later than May's 20. This shipment is free. Correos will deliver the correspondence that can be received until the twenty hours of the voting day in the electoral Mesas.

The 24 May 20 hours at once the last voter has voted at the polling station, shall be entered in the respective ballot envelopes containing the ballots sent by mail vote.
