Baleària Port has become a point to seal credentials in a new route of the Camino de Santiago that starts in the Balearic Islands and passes through Dénia on the way to Almansa.

It is a new route that starts for the first time in the Balearic Islands, as part of the Monastery of Lluc (Mallorca). After two stages the city of Palma is reached, from which you can take the boat to Dénia. There, in Baleària Port, pilgrims can receive the stamp of the stage. This route reaches Almansa, where it joins the Camino de la Lana, to continue towards Santiago de Compostela.

Following an agreement between the Fundació Baleària and the Association Way of the Dawn, maritime station has the power to seal the credentials of the pilgrims.

This weekend, a group of more than 25 pilgrims, belonging to the Camino del Alba de Xàbia, have inaugurated this new route, starting from the Balearic island. Yesterday, after traveling aboard the fast ferry Cecilia Payne, the pilgrims arrived at noon to Dénia, where they were received by authorities of the Ajuntament de Dénia and the Fundació Baleària, who put the corresponding stamp on their credentials of pilgrims.

The pilgrims who supposedly arrived from Palma and who allegedly, according to the president of the Association »Camino del Alba», and who left the Lluch Monastery, accompanied by Political and Ecclesiastical Authorities in order to inaugurate said Camino, or so communicated the President of said Xavia Association, to the members of the Board of Directors of "Friends of the Ways of Santiago de Denia", who organized their reception, collaborating in it a group of sailors, who prepared a "Fideua" for this purpose. They were surprised when the entourage made up of members of the Dianense Association and a representative of the City Council, after waiting more than two hours in "La Panseta", were able to verify that there was no one from the Palma Association, and the group that arrived was people who He did not represent said Insular Association. In any case, they were presented with a meal that had previously been prepared.
