The Moors and Christians of Dénia announce María José López as herald of their 40 years of festivities

The Federation of Moors and Christians of Dénia (FEMMICC Dénia) counts the days for the celebration of its big party. This Wednesday, July 20, it has been made public who will start the festivities with the traditional proclamation. She will be María José López, from the Filà Amazigh.

María José has held various positions throughout all these years at the head of the Moors and Christians from Denia. Among them, that of captain dwells in 2017 and Christian flag bearer in 2015, along with her husband, Salva Gil. The town crier has confessed to being very happy with the election of its president, Sónia Pérez, but she is also very nervous. Even so, she has stressed that for her it is "an honor and a pride to be the herald of the festivities that I love so much, those of my city". The proclamation will take place on August 5, at 20:30 p.m., in the Plaza del Consell de Dénia.

The poster that this year will give visibility to these festivals that are already a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest gives priority to number 40, which refers to the 40th anniversary of this festival in the city of Dénia. In addition, he is represented with the Christian sword and the crescent of the Moorish side.

Inside, with a white background, each of the festeros registered this year at the Dianense party are present. All this, accompanied by the color red. Color in which Dénia feels very identified, either by the Creative City of Gastronomy or Dénia Tourism, among others.

Likewise, the icing on the cake of this design is the transcription of El Vell Montgó, by Paco Muñoz, around it as a symbol of union with the Dianense festivities.
