This morning a press conference was held in the town hall of Dianense to present the activities that the NGO Controla Club and the City Council of Dénia are going to carry out together with regard to the prevention of drug addiction and the consumption of alcohol among the youngest.
He has intervened in the act Pepa Sivera, Councilor of Social Welfare and Prevention of Addictions, and Juan Carlos Peral, Coordinator of the Association Club controls. Both have highlighted the benefit for young dianenses of the strong cooperation between this council and the association. Juan Carlos Peral added that the City of Dénia is the institution that has been maintaining continuity with this initiative for the longest time. The data speak for themselves and from a sample of 1088 adolescents it is extracted that one in five young dianenses do not consume alcohol. They are numerical data that show the progress in the prevention of alcoholism if we take into account the situation we were living twenty years ago. According to Peral all this has been achieved with Dénia's faithful support.
The work planned for this summer by Controla Club will begin in the week of festivities with the presence of informative stands located in the concerts planned by the festive program. The campaign will be "Bottle Stories" and it will encourage in musical acts that without alcohol there can also be fun.
Later, during the month of August, a second campaign will be held with the slogan "With Coca, do not scratch yourself" taking the initiative not only to the concerts but also to the youth leisure areas where information stands will be distributed with messages that aim to unmask the false prestige, privileges and supposed "invisibility" of cocaine.
In the month of October, to close the season of joint activities of Control Club and the Department of Welfare and Prevention of Addictions, it is intended to increase the awareness of students in the seven Secondary Centers of Dénia. This last wave will be directed by the premises established in the campaign "If you pass, you miss it" that has been developing, for some years now, in local educational centers.
