The 'IaioFlautas' of Dénia call a rally to protest the rise in pensions

February 08 from 2018 - 12: 56

The government of Mariano Rajoy announced a rise in pensions after years of freezing, a news very well received by the group of Spanish pensioners. But the joy was short-lived, since that rise has been 0%, far from the rise in the CPI.

With pensions that in many cases are far from reaching the monthly 1.000 euros, pensioners have to subsist and, in many cases, keep part of their family: children who have been unemployed and have returned home or who have not had the opportunity to emancipate for the precarious working conditions.

To fight against that system the movement was born IaioFlautas, formed by pensioners and future pensioners worried about the looting that from the central government is being made to the piggy bank of pensions and that puts in danger the situation of the youngest ones when they reach their age.

The pensioners of Dénia and the Marina Alta have not been alien to this movement and have created IaioFlautas Dénia with the aim of contributing its grain of sand in the recovery of dignity and in protest of the negligible rise in pensions by the government.

This Thursday they have presented themselves in society, and their first action will take place next Thursday, 22 in February, at 11: 30 hours. That day they have called a rally in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento to show their displeasure at the "kiding you" that supposes the rise of the pensions.

The collective has just started in Dénia, but they aim to join IaioFlautas Valencia and inform those affected in Dénia and the region of the activities and existence of this movement in the Marina Alta. For this they will soon start up "Monday to the Sun", a street action to bring the movement closer to the citizens. It will be on Mondays, at 12: 00 in the morning, at the Town Hall Square.

Eduardo Bellver, Linda Vega, Adela Rodríguez, Luis de Alcántara, Héctor Acosta, Antonio Zúñiga and several pensioners who wanted to support the movement participated in the presentation.
