The Aguiriano brothers win at the international giant tuna fishery in Canada

The Valencian brothers and Real Club Nautico Denia Ángel and Manuel Aguiriano Sorribes, came from proclaiming themselves winners of the prestigious International Giant Tuna Fisheries Cup of Canada that has been played on Prince Edward Island.

The Aguiriano brothers are part of the Spanish team of Pescatours, and already two years ago they obtained the
annual record that season, in the same place and Championship, a large piece of 471 kilos. Juan Fábregas from Igualada, Juan Pascual from Palma de Mallorca and Joaquín Hernández Soler from
Girona, a great fishing specialist, founder and CEO of Pescatours.

This tournament, which was celebrating its forty-fifth edition this year, has brought together 25 boats from around the world with the aim of fishing exclusively for giant size tunas, according to sources from the Spanish team.

After three days of competition and conditions with winds of 30 knots and waves of a meter and a half the Spanish team managed to qualify in the first position by releasing a piece of 2,47 meters and 340 kilos in weight.

In this International Tuna Fishing Championship and in order to promote a sustainable activity, all the captured pieces are returned alive to the sea. Likewise, in this contest the use of harpoon or any damage to the fish is absolutely prohibited.

The next edition of this prestigious international championship will be held again in North Lake from 19 to 22 in September 2018, where Spain will again be represented by the Pescatours team that will defend this precious title.
