The Spanish Association of Neuropsychiatry in the Valencian Community has sent a letter to the Minister of Health, Luis Rosado, in which he is asked to maintain the specialty of Children's Mental Health in the Hospital de Dénia.
The specialists denounce that after the 7 in November, and after the dismissal of the child psychologist a few months ago, it will be an adult psychologist who devotes 10 hours a day a week to the attention of the child-juvenile population of the comarca, which borders the 32.000 inhabitants.
According to the letter, the first consultation will be one hour and the next one will be 30 minutes, with no time for family therapies or preventive actions.
For the members of the Association, the human resources destined to this area are "clearly insufficient and inadequate."
