Dénia schoolchildren work assertiveness in the face of passivity and aggressiveness

20 March 2018 - 00: 00

The Department of Social Welfare, through the Community Prevention of Addictive Behaviors Unit (UPCCA) and with the collaboration of the associated center of the UNED of Dénia, has organized, from the 1 to the 9 of March, the 2ª. part of the Social Skills Workshop with 6º Primary students of the 2017 / 2018 course. A total of 482 students from eleven educational centers in Dénia, La Xara and Jesús Pobre participated. The conductors of the workshop are the pedagogues and experts in Social Skills, Lorena Pérez and Sandra Baeza, professors of the UNED Dénia.

The aim of the Social Skills workshop is for students to acquire, develop and / or improve skills related to social skills, providing them with tools that allow them to have an adequate interaction in different social contexts, as well as facilitating the control of behavior in different situations in which they can be found throughout life. Also that the students, through the game and the dramatization of real situations, work social skills for the management of relationships with both peers and with other people; as well as the management of conflicting situations.

This second part of the workshop has focused on reinforcing the ability of assertiveness in the face of passivity and aggression. Three dynamics have been used where the techniques to carry them out have allowed each of the students to identify their own communication style, what they would do to concrete situations through role playing and how to defend ideas through a debate.
