Citizens will decide Sustainable Urban Development in the next Dénia 6 years

23 July 2016 - 00: 03

The citizens of Dénia have to familiarize ourselves with a new term that involves us all: EDUSI. Or what is the same, Strategy for Sustainable Integrated Urban Development. It is a tool of analysis and definition of objectives that mark the path of the city for the next six years the local government has begun to implement these days and it will offer its conclusions at the end of the year.

The EDUSI has two clear objectives. The first is to create a clear and sharp strategic planning for the future to convert the current city model currently linked to the tourist exploitation of the territory, for a more sustainable, rooted in the territory and with special attention to citizenship.

Dénia has the EDUSI

The second objective is to present to the call for aid from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union with which the City Council to co-finance Dénia actions arising from the strategy.

To get them, the project has been divided into several phases. The first has been the technical work that has been developed during the months of June and July by the editorial team, gathering information to develop the analysis of the strategy Plama on a website, edusidenia.es, from which the second phase opens. In this case, the beginning of citizen participation, which initially will be carried out through an anonymous online survey open to all citizens in which it seeks to collect the opinion of the residents of Dénia on what are the strong points of the city, its main problems, what aspects and actions would prioritize and how would you like Dénia to be within 10 years.

Participation will be expanded in phase three, during the months of September and October, with the realization of participatory workshops that will have a dual purpose: developing a shared diagnosis of the city and identify the main challenges; and define the lines of action and proposals, which will collect the final project.

The fourth and final phase will be the preparation of the outcome document, estimated for November, who will be sent to the call for aid.

It is not the first time Dénia chooses grants of ERDF funds. It is recalled that in 2007, the government of Paqui Viciano requested the same assistance and Dénia received EUR 4,5 million for the renovation of the Plaza del Consell and the Constitution, the Bosc de Diana, excavations of Hort de Morand and construction three Ecoparks. projects that following the motion of censure of 2008 were reduced to the remodeling of the squares.

The conclusions of the EDUSI will be combined with the drafting of the General Structural Plan. As explained by the Councilor for Territory and Urban Quality, Maria Josep Ripoll, the results of this strategy will be used by the General Structural Plan of Dénia.

But this is serious? The call is profujó Edusi in November 2015 and the deadline for proposals closed in January 2016. How is it that the city of Denia now moves when no call?
