The Riurau Film Festival 2019 - VIII International Short Film Festival has started at La Xara, in a journey of six days of screenings that will also go through Jesús Pobre, Dénia and Xàbia until the September 14.
He opened the night of August 23 in La Xara presenting this new headquarters by his mayor Maite Pérez Conejero, who was happy to host the Cinema Section in Valencià that for the first time brought together all the Valencian and Catalan language films in a specific section.
The award for the best short film went to Cow Marta Bayarri, a story of awareness by a worker at a slaughterhouse that creates a seemingly surreal situation. The public seemed to opt for two other films as well. The first taro, by Dani Rebner, who took the diploma of Best Art Direction and who picked up one of his actors, David Roldán, and the second Les 7 LLums Alberto Gospel, who won the Best Editing. They also obtained diplomas The Llibre, by Dani Martínez, for the Best Photography; Diana Gomez as Best Performer and Felix Colomer for Best Screenplay exaequo, both by Mar; the other Best Screenplay went to Adrià LLaurar for Recalculant Route. The jury was composed this year by Dolores Furió, José María Fraguas and Isabel Bilbao.
The day was animated by residents of La Xara, many of them also fans of the Fresh Cinema of the summers of La Xara, and by meetings of actors such as the aforementioned David Roldán, producers such as Blanca Sellés -also art director- who related the true story of Les 7 Llums and from its director, and collected the diploma from it; dancers like Joanber Pineda and member of the Conseil International de la Danse -UNESCO- and people from the world of art such as Nancy Suárez who directs the MAAC in Brussels and who illustrated the audience with a profile of the Belgian actress Sophie Maréchal, protagonist of taro, to which he joins a good friendship and to which he unusually recognized when he attended the festival. The students and professors of the RIURAU Cinema School Association of Xàbia and Dénia, whose short films will be screened in these venues in September, also collaborated in this first appointment of the 8ª edition of the RRFF.
