Shipyard Noguera reappearing in the exhibition Héctor Rubio

10 September 2011 - 13: 48

Hector Rubio exposes these days two of his exhibitions in the Center d'Art L'Estacio. These are "Astilleros" and "Martín", two of its most representative samples. The councilor for culture, Pepa Font, presented to the media the opening of the exhibitions together with its author, highlighting the importance of the images shown in "Astilleros" for the city, a photographic report of the former Noguera Shipyards that Héctor Rubio chose as the final project of his studies. A total of 27 black and white images take us to Dénia 10 years ago with historical offices such as the calafater, an activity that still lasts over time.

For its part, "Martín" is made up of 33 images that pay homage to Martín, a friend of Rubio, son of a circus mother who toured the country without establishing roots anywhere. With 21 years, Martín and his family, a total of 10 brothers, establish their caravans on the outskirts of Valencia. After getting married and creating a family, Martin has to leave his way of life to accept subsidies in his new sedentary life.

The images of Héctor Rubio can be visited until October 16 at the Center d'Art l'Estació.
