20 December 2021 - 11: 43

Last Friday, December 17, the prizes of the 18th edition of the GuiaME Dénia Tapas Route were awarded. The event was attended by several personalities from Dénia such as the mayor and councilor for Tourism, Vicent Grimalt, Manolo and Frank Martí, organizers of GuiaME Comunicació, Diego Mena, director of the Association of Hospitality and Tourism Entrepreneurs of the Marina Alta (Aehtma) and some representatives of the companies collaborating with the initiative.

First prizes

El restaurant The singing, with the cap "Oxtail nest with mashed potatoes and mushrooms", has been the first classified of the 18 Route of Tapas. The first place in the competition is endowed with a commemorative plaque, a tasting lunch or dinner at the restaurant Mena and a decorative patio heater from the company fire Spreading.

The second prize went to tempura-bar& grill, author of the cover “La Marineta Cassiana" salad with wakame seaweed and sesame, shrimp, puff bread and seaweed mayonnaise. The award, for those responsible for the premises, consists of, in addition to a commemorative plaque, a dinner with one night's stay at the La Font d'Alcalà hotel, in Alcalà de la Jovada, with breakfast included.

Aehtma and Tourism Dénia Award

The Aehtma award, chosen by a technical jury, has been for Cata's Bar for its elaboration "Agropop", Free-range egg at low temperature, Iberian crumbs, braised cauliflower puree, pomegranate molasses, persimmon chip and autumn truffle. The endowment consists of a commemorative plaque and a gastronomic experience of haute cuisine in Dénia for two people.

Dénia Tourism awards each year the award for the best cover made with indigenous product, which has been for the "Sea Farming" by Robert's Baret. This has been a tribute to the tomato grown by local producers, with tuna and seasoned with the house picaeta.

To these awards is added the recognition that the organization has wanted to give to the Entrearomas restaurant, giving him a special prize, endowed with 300 euros in cash. In this way, the organization has considered it this way "for its dedication, involvement and commitment, as well as the good work and dedication" that it has shown with the Tapas Route from the beginning. In fact, Entrearomas is the restaurant that has won the most editions. "And for continuing to maintain that spirit of competitiveness and improvement, we grant him this more than well-deserved award," they add.

Sweepstakes winners

After the awards ceremony, the raffle was held to distribute prizes among the riders who had filled out and delivered their valuation passport with a minimum of 15 scored tapas. The result has been the following:

  • Leles Noguera (tapas dinner for two at El Cantó restaurant, winner of the first prize on the route).
  • Daniel García (tapas dinner for two at the Tempura restaurant, winner of the second prize on the route).

  • Georg Himmel, winner of the Melicatessen basket of local products.
  • Silvia Camarena Jorge, winner of the award sponsored by Aehtma for a dinner, hotel night and breakfast for two at the Hotel Los Angeles Denia.

Finally, in the raffle carried out among the routers who had scored the 38 competing tapas has been a winner Martin Cuezva Rettenmaier. The award, sponsored by the mall Portal de la Marina, consists of a 500 euro gift card for purchases in stores of the commercial area.

The next edition of the route is already underway. The organizers have already made public that it will take place February 18 to March 13, 2022.

A pity that the tapas route does not welcome the vegetarian or vegan public, in a gastronomic city by UNESCO as Dénia is.
