The reconversion of the old fish market in Museo del Mar will end in October

11 July 2018 - 10: 00

One of the most emblematic works of the Productive Investment Plan in Dénia (Plan Confianza) faces its final stretch. The old fish market will become a Museum of the Sea and will be an open space for the celebration of talks, presentations and conferences. And if everything goes according to plan, the works will end in the month of October.

This was stated by the councilor for territory in the Dénia City Council, Maria Josep Ripoll, during the visit that the President of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, made this Tuesday afternoon.

Ripoll explained that currently works inside the building, specifically in the installation of windows, toilets and partitions, as well as in the installation of electrical connections. One of the most important and complicated jobs will be the roof, since they are going to install metal plates that will draw shadows that will remind the sailors' nets. In addition, we are waiting for a special pavement for this building, which will arrive in September, at which time the final stretch of the works will be addressed.

The project, which started in June of the 2016 year, has a budget of 991.400 euros. When completed, the building will have a small office, toilets and exhibition material.

The Mayor of Dénia stressed the importance of these works in the only building Dénia has preserved in the history of the port, a work that "it means a lot to the city".
