Maria Ibars's music poems go on tour through the institutes of the region thanks to the MACMA

January 29 from 2018 - 09: 50

The Cultural Association of the Marina Alta (MACMA) is strongly committed this year to the enhancement of one of the most important writers of Dénia in the XNUMXth century, María Ibars. Her texts, which reflect her love for the capital of the region, are a portrait of how the Dianenses of that time thought and lived.

Now, when 50 years have passed since his death, the MACMA wants to bring the figure of this poet to the schoolchildren of the institutes of the region. And for this they will have the collaboration of the IES teacher María Ibars, Jaume Ginestar, who published the album a few months ago. 10 Poemes de Penyamar in which he played music for ten poems by the author, Dénia's adopted daughter.

Thus, through the music and the texts of María Ibars, the aim is to bring her figure and the importance of her work closer to the students of the region.

The first session took place, precisely, in the institute that bears his name. A hundred high school students attended, in the library, the Ginestar recital. In addition, Professor Pepa Martí made a summary of the life and work of Ibars, a teacher with a fondness for writing who knew how to photograph the society of the region at the time she lived and was not valued as it should.

This first session was attended by the Mayor of Dénia and President of the MACMA, Vicent Grimalt; the deputy mayor of Dénia, Rafa Carrió; the manager of the MACMA, Jovi Lozano; and the director of the institute, Pepe Toni Server.

Grimalt stressed the importance of this activity, just when the MACMA has fulfilled 20 years as a benchmark of regional union. Rafa Carrió, meanwhile, recalled that at 2015 five objectives were proposed around María Ibars: to name Dénia's adopted daughter, to play ten of her poems, to reprint some of her books, to create the Maria Ibars Interpretation Center, to bring her figure closer to the schools. Now, with the launch of this campaign, all that remains is to complete the edition of the books and the creation of the Interpretation Center.

Pepe Toni Server thanked the collaboration of public entities in the dissemination of the figure of the writer born in Valencia but who always lived in Dénia. Server recalled that the institute "He has taken the initiative to claim his work" because "we believe in training and equality".

The session was completed with the performance of Jaume Ginestar, who performed live Tragedy of a rose and it projected videos of other subjects in which, in addition, the lyrics of the songs could be read.
