The City Council of Dénia approved in the Local Government Board held this week the adjudication of the works of the new roundabout on Joan Fuster Avenue at the junction with Diana Street. The company Pavasal will be in charge of carrying out these works, which will begin in November and will have a term of execution of three months, so it is probable that in the month of February the works have been completed.
The offer of Pavasal has been the most advantageous, economically speaking, with a total amount of 183.000 euros plus VAT. This figure supposes an 8,9% reduction with respect to the bidding budget, which was 200.876,48 euros plus VAT.
The works will consist of the rearrangement of the intersection, by means of the construction of an oval roundabout, with an approximate length of 27 meters, parallel to the axis of the railway and Joan Fuster Avenue. Also, the traffic of Joan Fuster will be reorganized in the surroundings of this new intersection, changing to a section type boulevard, with two lanes of one sense to each side of the median conformed by the railway line, favoring the character of the avenue like Ronda Sur of Denia.
The north side of the avenue will have two lanes east-west and on the other side of the road, the south side will have two lanes west-east direction (direction to the port). All the technical characteristics have been agreed and worked with Ferrocarrils of the Generalitat Valenciana.
Also in the Governing Board was approved the award of professional services for the drafting and management of works of the project of level crossing at the intersection of Joan Fuster Avenue and Calle Pintor Llorens, an action that will allow the opening of this Ronda Sur by eliminating the unevenness that currently exists both ways and will regulate the circulation of the Tram with the passage of vehicles and pedestrians through a level crossing.
The works have been awarded to the company ICOSA Ingeniería Civil SA for the amount of 12.900 euros plus VAT.
