Since last Friday, at the request of the Regional Ministry, the concentration of protest planned by the Association of nautical clubs of the Valencian Community, to sit down at the negotiating table, has been worked out in an intense way to find an agreement that would be good for all parties and for water sports.
Having produced advances and assignments by both parties, the point of disagreement is that the Department wants to vary the text approved in the Autonomous and State Ports Law incorporating the phrase "may not call a contest", which implies that too"you can summon it", not being consistent with its stated intention to avoid that possibility.
It should be noted that since last Thursday those responsible for the Ministry had committed to respect the legislation through competition and limit access to the public contest only to sports entities. The Association expresses its surprise since, by incorporating that nuance at the last minute, the Department keeps open the possibility of privatizing the clubs.
The Association recognizes the effort made by the Generalitat, but cannot completely close the agreement if the point that endangers the social and sports work carried out by the clubs is maintained. Not surprisingly, it is precisely this possible privatization that caused the start of the mobilizations and protest actions of the clubs.
This obstacle prevents the culmination of an almost historic agreement that would unblock a situation that, according to the Ministry of Public Works itself, has lasted for too many years and prevents the investment by the clubs.
If the final text in the Budget Accompaniment Law that will be debated next week in Les Corts is not approved, the Yacht Clubs will continue to be under the threat of privatization. This means that they do not rule out continuing with mobilizations that reveal to public opinion the danger of the disappearance of the development and promotion of the practice of nautical sports.
The Association wishes to maintain communication, and asks the Regional Ministry to eliminate the only point of disagreement that will allow reaching an agreement that achieves the maximum possible consensus.
