The best beaches in Dénia in 2022, according to the FEE

May 15 from 2022 - 01: 30

The European Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), like every year, has chosen the best beaches from half the world, selecting a good number from the coast of Dénia. All this, based on water quality, environmental management, safety and services, and information and promotion of environmental education. In order to be recognized that they approve these parameters, since 1985 the FEE grants the famous Blue Flags. These are, therefore, the best beaches in Dénia in 2022 and that this summer you will see the badge wave:

The Bovetes

The The Bovetes Dénia is one of the largest and most visited on the Dianense coast. Its proximity to numerous urbanizations and commercial areas make it one of the favorite destinations for visitors.

Features

It is a sandy beach that has an approximate extension of 1.800 meters and accessibility for people with reduced mobility. Among the services offered by this beach are police surveillance, a lifeguard post, safety beacons for swimmers and a channel for the entry and exit of boats.

Location

It is in the middle of Marines, right in the Les Fons shopping center (name by which the beach is also known among its neighbors).

Les Deveses

The Les Deveses It is the widest sandy beach that the municipality of Dénia has. Also further away from the town center and part of its charm lies in its naturalness.

Features

It is almost 3 kilometers long and has the finest sand on the Dianense coast. It has always been the longest, however, the continuous sea storms that occurred between 2018 and 2020 especially punished that part of the coastline, leaving some sections impassable even today. It is usually the favorite for windsurfing and kitesurfing.

Location

It is located at km 10,8 of the Les Marines road, being the northernmost beach on the Dénia coast.

Marines

Despite the fact that Les Marines is traditionally how all the beaches in the north of Dénia have been known, due to the fact that the road with the same name runs through all of them, the truth is that it is only a section of it. Between Bovetes and Les Albaranes is Les Marines beach, also known by locals as Les Brises.

Features

It is a sandy beach identical to those found in that area, with a large extension and sections as wide as in Bovetes. Like the latter, it is surrounded by urbanizations and commercial areas, which is why it is usually very popular.

Location

The beach extends from Blay Beach to the old breakwater in front of the Escondida restaurant, although the main access is through the Les Brises shopping center.

Marineta Cassiana

It is the only sandy beach, and the only one that has obtained the Blue Flag, south of Dénia. The Marineta Cassiana it is also, in fact, the closest to the urban area. It stands out for having a long promenade that runs along the entire coast and for its original initiatives such as the Biblioplatja or the Smoke-Free Beach.

Features

Its sea stands out for being almost always calm thanks to its proximity to the port breakwater and because it has a second breakwater that closes off the bay. The water is very shallow, making it an ideal destination for families with small children and the elderly.

Location

As we said, it is located south of Dénia, just outside the town center and after passing the city's marinas.

Els Molins

tip of the Molins It is a large beach that is located in Les Marines, passing Nueva Dénia. It has the same services as Les Bovetes, however it is less crowded than this one because it is not so visible.

Features

It is a wide and elongated sandy beach, shaped like a bay by two old breakwaters that embrace it. In addition, it is one of the most intimate thanks to the dunes that in sections have a lot of vegetation, covering the buildings and giving it a more "virgin" appearance.

Location

Els Molins beach begins at km 5,4 of the Les Marines road.

Punta del Raset

The Beach of the Punta del Raset in Dénia it is also known by the name of Cagarritar. It is the closest beach to the town center, which begins after the port area, and is also one of the most spacious in the city, with 600 meters in length and an average width of 75 metres.

Features

It is a sandy beach, like those of the entire area that begins with it, Les Marines, which also has a special landscape and natural value due to the dunes that are generated along its coastline.

Location

Behind the north breakwater, a few steps from the town center, is Punta del Raset beach.

  1. Bill says:

Regarding the Marineta Cassiana beach – why is the beach so full of large deposits of decaying sea weed – especially close to the harbor?
Are there plans in place to clean the beach of this weed?
I struggle to understand how this beach can be awarded a Blue Flag…
