This year's Fiestas will not have Bous, fifths or events in La Vía, but they will have a Zoo, a fire castle and more culture than ever.

11 June 2021 - 11: 05

This morning, the party councilor, Óscar Mengual, has presented to the media what will be the programming of the "Fiestas" of Dénia this year. And we put quotation marks "Holidays" because, as Mengual has insisted, it is not about Festivities of the Santíssima Sang, but instead, according to the pandemic, they have adapted to form what they have called Festival 2021.

The first thing that catches the attention of this new program is the large number of events that are going to take place despite the current context. Yes, all focused on shows whose monitoring can be carried out seated and, in this way, ensuring compliance with sanitary measures.

Along these lines, the acts of fifth, discommobiles, floats and els Bous a la Mar. Despite the fact that the possibility of resuming the Bous was studied, the mayor points out that the demands of Sanitat prevented them from being carried out as they did until the pandemic, and the proposed format was insufficient. In this way, they reached an agreement with the peñas to postpone your celebration to when sanitary conditions improve.

What there are this time are many performances and a great cultural bet, probably being one of the bravest cultural programs that have been carried out in the municipality in recent years. The Fiestas have become a festival of performances of all kinds, for all audiences, and in three clear settings: Torrecremada esplanade, Torrecremada gardens and Social Center. The new restrictions, which require a distance of one and a half meters between chairs in these events, prevent further holding of events in the street La Vía, so this year it will not host any.

Among the performances, the new commitment to music in Valencian stands out, something that has been increasingly promoted by the City Council, with the renowned Saforian group Zoo that will play on Sunday July 4 with Maluks in a stage that can accommodate up to 2.000 people. "We bet on music in Valencian, counting on Zoo in a different format to know if we are up to being able to do such a great concert," the councilor underlines. It will be the only paid event, costing € 15 entry and can be purchased at www.notikumi.com starting Friday, June 18.

On that website you can and should make a reservation for the other scheduled events that, although free, require registration to control the capacity. This year there will also be performances by the AArtistic Musical grouping, Marina Jazz Band, tributes to Camilo Sesto, Ana Belén, Miguel Ríos, Joan Manuel Serrat... Also magic performances by Santi Marcilla and Jandro. In addition, this year the program will close again castle fireworks, which last year did not illuminate the Dianense sky.

FEstiu 2021, with the slogan of "mentre hi tornem, anem fent", will start next Friday, July 2 and end on Sunday, July 11.
