The campaigns of prevention of addictions reached to a thousand of young people during the celebrations of Dénia

The Department of Social Welfare, through the Unit for Community Prevention of Addictive Behaviors (UPCCA) of Dénia, has carried out during the Festival of Dénia three prevention campaigns, some of them with the collaboration of the NGO Controla Club, in the different activities programmed for the youngest.

The campaigns have been carried out in the area of ​​youth party located in the parking lot of La Guitarra to promote a greater participation of youthful population of the locality, and have reached a total of young 500.

Together with the NGO Control Club, the campaign was If you spend, you miss, Through which merchandising and information leaflets were distributed to the young 251 who filled out the surveys.

The second campaign has been Beus ??? Mesura-ho !!!, carried out by the UPCCA of Dénia. The approaching participants were asked a series of questions related to alcohol consumption and explained how to measure consumption with UBEs (Standard Beverage Unit) to differentiate an alcohol abuse use and avoid the risks associated with consumption especially in the younger population. Once this intervention was made, they were given a claim (t-shirt or backpack) where they could read "With two toes" and exposed the risk consumption measured with UBEs.


 
The objective of these campaigns is to provide clear, objective and realistic information on substance use / abuse and especially on alcohol, demystify myths and misconceptions and reach the youth with realistic messages, reduce the risks associated with consumption and encourage behavior Healthy, responsible and common sense in their decisions.
 
As for the recipients of the intervention, there was a very high and favorable participation. The target audience was perfect in terms of ages and involvement. They were predisposed to receive the information related to the reduction of risks in alcohol and other substances.

The UPCCA makes a positive assessment of the active participation and involvement in the activities of a total of young 461 in the three preventive actions. Equally, the impact created with these three actions is valued in a total of almost 1.000 youngsters.
 
It should also be remembered that the 30 of June took place the XIV Discosana Campaign of risk reduction by 24 local night entertainment in Denia, where they distributed 5.500 informative units (bookmarks) that will be available throughout the summer season in these venues. At the end of the summer, a questionnaire will be passed to assess the impact of the measure.
