The contributions of the neighbors agree with the proposals of the editorial team of PGE

Once the process of citizen participation for the elaboration of the General Structural Plan of Dénia has finished, it has been discovered that the requests of the neighbors are in line with the proposals in which the team that drafts the urban document is working. This was summed up by the planning councilor in the Dénia City Council, Maria Josep Ripoll, during the exhibition to the public of the conclusions of the participatory workshops.

Conclusions of participatory workshops

Since October there have been a total of ten participatory workshops, located in five municipalities. In total around 150 people participated in 20 hours of workshops have been conducted.

The next workshop was held in Rotes-Montgó, in which the neighbors demanded an improvement of the infrastructures, a better management of the Natural Park Montgó and the enhancement of the natural and cultural heritage, in addition to the planning of urban space.

The last workshop was held in Dénia, The broadest of all to cover the entire urban area of ​​the city. Of all the conclusions, highlighted the importance given to the creation of Ronda Perimetral or Via Park, but not in the form of road but as boulevard mode Anell Verd.

Participants at the workshop agreed on the need for social conquest between Denia and port; improving communications; the pedestrian; compact growth and the creation of a living, mixed and quiet Dénia.

Neighbors proposals to be incorporated into PGE

As a final conclusion, the team of participatory workshops explained that the neighbors are committed to controlled growth; Dénia closing with Via Parque (Ronda Perimetral old) as a boulevard (Anell Verd); management of historic centers with the fear of capital loss; sustainable urban mobility; diversification of the urban fabric and optimization of existing infrastructures.

Although the PGE is not the detailed document that allows establishing specific things to do in the city, from participatory workshops it has been extracted that citizens want a Montgó as a landscape reference, with better access and signaling and a recovery program for rainfed crops.

The desire for a network of green spaces in Les Marines, the improvement of the pedestrian and cyclist connection systems and the connection of the coastline through a Green Way. Likewise, the neighbors want the Business Park to be expanded and for Dénia to have an Efficient Transport Network.

Little political support

The meeting was attended by about a hundred people from associations, businesses and neighbors in general, but there was little political influx. Among the public was a large part of the government team and representatives of Podemos, but no one from the other opposition groups came.
