February 18 from 2015 - 00: 00

In the sports hall Marina de Denia, the VII SUMA Rowing League Regatta was presented, a test that is the "XXVIII Virgin of the Forsaken Trophy", a test that will be held on March 1 and organized by the Club Rem Dénia in collaboration with Marina Dénia and the Fishermen's Association of Dénia.

During the presentation, Gabriel Martínez, director of Marina Dénia explained, "It is a very deep-rooted trophy in the Mediterranean and we always lend ourselves to helping the Rem Dénia Club in its organization, since this sport clearly opens the city to the sea and this is one of our main objectives".

The test has some new features as explained the president of the Dianense club, Miguel Camarena, "the competition will start at 8 in the morning, we have advanced one hour its start due to the large number of teams that will participate. Another novelty is that there will be no B finals, this is to speed up and not lengthen the finals A".

Reason does not lack to Camarena since it is predicted that they are more than 600 the rowers that go to the city to dispute this competition. If nothing abnormal happens, 65 will be the boats that are in the water.

The first qualifiers will be those corresponding to the categories of veterans, then they will be cadets, juniors and seniors. It is a competition in time trial mode and the four best times will be those that dispute the finals.

The race course will be installed inside the Dianense port. This allows us to sail in the best conditions and the public to follow the tests very closely. The distances to travel will be 700 meters for all categories, except senior that will be 1.400 meters.

Sisco Signes, sports councilor said, "The sport of rowing is a tradition in this city and more when talking about this trophy, that is why, from the town hall our support is total to this regatta".

Before dismissing the act, Gabriel Martinez made a request to the mayor of sports, "talk to anyone who has to speak and ask the Generalitat that the llauts are exempt from paying the G5 rate, applicable in the ports of competition of the Generalitat. It is not acceptable that these boats that are a social and sportive push are recorded in this way".

The two llauts cost the Club Rem Dénia annually around 1.400 euros, when they are used only to train and compete. A difficult issue of this rate that worries many clubs.
