UNED Senior makes an archaeological visit to Calp

On November 20, the UNED Senior of Xàbia He made an excursion to the Peñón de Ifach in Calp and its history museum, also known as "La casa de la Senyoreta", to check in situ the remains and archaeological material of the city.

The class of the course "Beliefs, myths and gods in the pre-Roman Iberian Peninsula" was accompanied by his teacher Patricia Miñana, a historian specialized in Archeology. During their visit to the rock, they were able to contemplate the interesting and exceptional medieval archaeological site of Pobla d'Ifac, built at the end of the XNUMXth century under the mandate of Roger de LLúria, Admiral of the Crown of Aragon.

During it, they visited the Interpretation Center of the Peñón de Ifach Natural Park, where they could learn about the constancy of its first settlers, in the Bronze Age, and that of an Iberian town, nowadays disappeared. During the visit to the Peñón de Ifach Natural Park, they also had the opportunity to enjoy the richness of the fauna and flora of this small and emblematic natural park.
Already in the History Museum located in the old town, the students were able to contemplate the oldest materials that the museum houses, dating back to the Bronze Age corresponding to the Cocentari site and to the Iberian Era, belonging to the Peñón de Ifach.

This week the UNED Senior class of "Beliefs, myths and gods in the pre-Roman Iberian Peninsula" will go on an excursion to one of the most important prehistoric Upper Paleolithic sites in Europe, the Cova del Parpalló, in Gandia.

The registration period has been extended to the more than 500 Permanent Training courses until December 15 inclusive.
