The associated center UNED Dénia has been officially integrated into the Immigration Observatory of the Diputación de Alicante, a body that wants to become the central axis and coordinator of the actions that in the matter of attention to the foreigner can be undertaken in the province, It is conceived as a unit of study, analysis, evaluation and research about the problems of the immigrant population in the province of Alicante.
The deputy of Family and Citizenship, Mercedes Alonso and the director of UNED Denia, Raquel Martí, have signed the agreement by which UNED Dénia, which covers both the Marina Alta such as the Marina Baja through the offices of Dénia, Javea And Benidorm, will join this body.
Among the actions to be implemented are the beginning of an awareness-raising process to combat situations of discrimination and promote a positive assessment of the migration process, the identification of trends in this phenomenon in the province, the preparation of a manual reception for immigrants, as well as the organization of workshops, courses, open classrooms or seminars in matters of Nationality Law or Immigration Law.
