La Sella Golf reopens its doors inaugurating the renovated Gregal course

February 26 from 2021 - 14: 28

La Sella Golf It reopens its doors after the closure decreed in January by the restrictions of the Covid-19 health pandemic. The Generalitat has accepted the proposal of the Golf Courses to Sanitat at the meeting on February 12 to differentiate sports activities based on their risk. So sports activities can reopen from Monday, March 1.

The long-awaited return to routine at the facilities of La Sella Golf, scheduled for March 1, arrives loaded with good news for its members and users: the inauguration of the renovated Gregal course (or 9 red holes).
In recent months, and under the supervision of the golfer and Prince of Asturias Award for Sport, José María Olazábal, work has been done on creating a more modern and environmentally sustainable course, which consumes recycled water from the Ondara plant , following in the wake of the works that were carried out in 2019 on the Llebeig route (9 yellow holes).

The works have consisted of the renovation of the 9 red holes of the course, following the comprehensive agronomic plan envisaged with Olazábal Golf Design. In addition, the irrigation system, the tees platforms, the green complexes, the bunkers have been renewed and various improvements have been made in fairways and rough.

During one of his follow-up visits to the works, Olazábal explained that "we are preparing the field for a more technical future and to be able to host international competitions." In this way, La Sella Golf members will enjoy their favorite sport in the middle of nature and with the maximum safety conditions on this renewed tour, as has already been demonstrated since the beginning of the pandemic. Golf is a safe sport, in which the only contact that its users have is with the nature that surrounds them.
