January 14 from 2022 - 09: 00

La Sella Golf, in its constant improvement for the management of the environment in its field, has signed an agreement with The Isjborn Collective, a Dianense NGO formed by a group of professionals and people committed to Environmental Sustainability, Climate Emergency and Nature Protection, with special attention to caring for our seas and oceans.

Collaborating with The Isbjorn Collective implies subscribing to certain criteria in favor of environmental sustainability such as:

  • Promote sustainability in the performance of professional activity and personal habits. Stimulate and promote awareness and environmental education in our environment.
  • Incorporate and promote environmental ethics in the performance of the profession.
  • Promote the responsible consumption, always choosing the most sustainable options.
  • Minimize the use of plastic materials, radically eliminating single-use ones.
  • Reduce your own carbon footprint, helping to offset the climate emergency.
  • Always ensure the environmental health of the seas and oceans, promoting respect and responsibility in its use. And protect the environmental legacy that we leave to the following generations, as the only guarantee of the future for Humanity.

In this sense, the agreements by the parties are based on an agreement of 5 activities specific on the calendar.

On the one hand, TIC will provide, through its professionals, environmental training for the 35 employees of this golf course, with an important emphasis on the "Green Section" or gardening, which generates large amounts of green waste.

The company will also offer internships to young people with training in different disciplines of management and environmental sciences, in the organization itself, through agreements with different Universities and Official European Education Centers.

La Sella golf will offer its members, through the group, events for environmental awareness through its Area of Dissemination and Support for Sustainable Projects, Ideas and Products.

Also and for the first time in the world of Valencian golf, the carbon footprint produced by a 27-hole golf facility will be analyzed, in order to take corrective measures, if necessary.

And finally, according to Mara Bañó, representative of the club "the most exciting of the points and the one that is the key to the future", the 130 students of La Sella Golf Academy, a municipal golf school with children between 5 and 18 years old, they will do awareness days with environmental information activism and collective visits to Puntos Negros.

How much water does a golf course like this need and how does it affect Responsible Consumption and environmental sustainability? What actions does this association carry out to ensure the health of the seas and oceans? What relationship do golf courses have with the seas and oceans? But how many associations do these people have?
