La Sella Golf has celebrated with great success the XXV Anniversary of its inauguration through a vibrant act, with the presence of more than 300 people, in which 25 reviewed years full of sensations, emotions and experiences that have turned this golf complex into one of the references essentials of the Valencian Community and Spain.
Mayors of Denia, Jávea and EATIM de Jesús Pobre, as well as the president of the Círculo de Empresarios, presided over an emotional ceremony.
During the Gala intense moments were lived, with special mention to the tribute made to workers who have served over these 25 years, if Paco García, Raymond Waernes, Juani Franco, Marian Puchol, Manolo Cornejo and Salvador Jiménez.
That spirit of service that has always characterized La Sella Golf Resort was emphasized by Pepe Bañó, promoter of this project back in 1990, when the first holes of the golf course were inaugurated, designed by José María Olazábal, one of the most important golfers in the history of Spanish golf.
Pepe Bañó recalled "the very important support, in those previous years, of my partners and founders Monfort, Noguera, Ramis, Calabuig, Formes, Vengut, Fluxa, to build a golf course with the aim of offering an additional service to revitalize the region of the Marina Alta. It all started with a simple drawing of 9 holes on land we hadn't bought yet!”
"The collaboration of Juan de la Cuadra and Pepe Sancho, along with the outstanding contribution of José María Olazábal who has always supported us, with a design subsequently extended to 27 holes, an absolute dream came true", Recalled Pepe Bañó.
Bañó, highlighted the important change experienced with respect to golf, "an activity but then discredited over the years, also thanks to courageous politicians of the time, has amply demonstrated its ability to exercise economic focus of attraction".
Pepe Bañó also had emotional words of gratitude for people who are no longer among us and for all the partners that throughout these 25 years have turned La Sella Golf into a benchmark in the world of golf.
Had a special mention for holding tournaments of the highest national and international prestige case of the four European Cups Women's Golf Professional, several championships in Spain Professional, competitions brands more dunks in the client golf, concentrations, etc.
