In the first half there was a starting match controlled by the local team that was more successful when attacking than their rival. This again narrowed the score with alternation in the advantages of no more than one goal from one team to another. In the final stretch of the first half, it was again the dianenses who were more successful and that led them to go to rest with a small income advantage, 14 to 13.

In the second half, the men led by David Salanova started very well and opened a good gap on the scoreboard, with an advantage of four goals. But little by little, the visitors were strengthened in their game against a Garbi Dénia who committed too many offensive errors. Several penalties were wasted, failing some clear one-on-one actions that the locals did not know how to solve.

The dianenses were dedicated to providing individual solutions instead of using more collective and aid game. Some local players were not very successful and this led them to suffer their first defeat of the season in the league competition by falling by 21 to 25.

Despite the first defeat, the dianenses are still the leaders and maintain 6 points with respect to the second classified, Maristas Alicante.
