Officials of the Dénia Local Police, attached to the Environmental Unit, have intercepted a poacher this morning around 12:30 p.m.
In response to a phone call denouncing the presence of a person with a speargun in the popular "Fresquito" cove, officials have verified how, indeed, a person was spearfishing in the place.
After ordering the poacher to get out of the water, they have been able to verify how he had three catches. Therefore, they have proceeded to report it to the Department of Fisheries and to requisition the material used. The captured pieces have had to be destroyed.
From the Local Police of Dénia, the citizen collaboration is appreciated, which is essential to be able to give a faster and more agile response to behaviors such as the one that occurred today in the Cabo de San Antonio Marine Reserve.
