The Department of Social Welfare reissues this summer the program of activities for people with intellectual disabilities, which will take place on the beach Punta del Raset. The mayor of the area, Pepa Sivera, has indicated that it is aimed at users from the 7 years forward and is completely free. Like last year, the development of the program has been entrusted to the Ludai association, which will assign a team of five people to the activities. The project budget The beach: our meeting place, Financed entirely by the council, amounts to 15.000 euros.
The program will be developed between the 15 in July and the 30 in August, from 9 to 14.30 hours. It will be coordinated by the pedagogue of the Ludai association, Maite Cabrera, who has commented that the activity covers two areas: on the one hand, that people with intellectual disabilities can enjoy the benefits of the beach and, on the other, that their caregivers have of a few hours "of respite".
There will be workshops, animal therapy and other tailor-made activities. Users will also have a bath time per day and those who require it will be able to have amphibious chairs thanks to the collaboration of the Red Cross Denia.
The participation is open to users of associations of the local disabled and to people from outside who spend their holidays in Denia.
Registration will be done by weeks for a maximum group of twenty users. However, if anyone wishes to repeat, they may do so if the quota of any other week is not closed. Those interested in registering can do so at the headquarters of the Ludai association (Sant Cristòfol street, 18-20) or the first day of the activity on the beach.
