The new directive Veïns Les Roques accuses the former of encouraging the division of neighbors

02 July 2015 - 00: 05

The neighborhood of Les Roques is currently mired in an internal conflict that divides its neighbors between those who are in favor of continuing to park in it and those who want to comply with the law, stop parking, and finally end up pedestrianized the neighborhood.

In this context, the hitherto chairman of the board of the Association of Veïns of Les Roques, Javier Ruiz, who claimed that the neighborhood is stopped parking, will be replaced by Paulina Silvestre, and its new directive, which calls for continuing parked as usual. This was decided at the last meeting of l'Association last June 26.

We speak with this new directive to dispel the doubts about the tension that is breathed in this historical zone of Dénia and to know the intentions that they have for the future, as well as their opinions of the management of the former president.

New directive of the Associació de Veïns de Les Roques

In the opinion of Adrián Mas, member of the new board, in this last assembly in which the dismissal of Javier Ruiz was voted "tension was not breathed and everything was calm", however, as Mas later tells us, and Paulina Silvestre herself, right now "the neighborhood is quiet but divided, segregated". The causes blamed the conflict of parking, and blame directly Ruiz had encouraged this segregation. Regret that because of this conflict, many residents, related to the cause of Ruiz, "They are taking it on a personal level and denounce, individually, the neighbors who park in areas where theoretically it is not possible".

The intention of the new directive is the consensus, to talk to the people of the neighborhood and decide, together, the future of it. They accuse the former of "wanting to continue in its line, with the main intention of stopping to park in the neighborhood", but, according to Paulina Silvestre, the only area of the neighborhood in which they were focused was that of intramurals and that of Ronda Murallas outwards, which is also a neighborhood of Les Roques, "They didn't want to know anything". They also criticize the former president did not communicate assemblies correctly, and that the legality of these was in the air, as the secretary in charge of recording the spoken in them, had not appeared at any of these meetings. Now, we are told, they face many hours of work, reviewing all registered in the assemblies, for, if necessary revoke the decisions taken, if they do not comply with the statutes of the association itself.

Despite the intention of consensus and to avoid segregation, this new directive clearly advocates continuing as before, that is, parking. That is why they will ask the city council to extend the decree that allows them to park, or on the contrary, the law will be enforced throughout the town and not only in the neighborhood of Les Roques. They would agree that it would not be parked only if a nearby parking area were enabled, something they do not trust due to the lack of parking in the city. In the same way, they are reluctant to pedestrianize this neighborhood, as they fear that what they think is a problem will happen: "the opening of shops and bars, as has happened in the area of Calle Loreto, or in the streets of the seaside neighborhood, where at night you can neither sleep nor walk ". They do not believe, either, that pedestrianization is the best thing for the elderly people living in the neighborhood.

They ask the new City Council that the Consell del Barri de Les Roques, that the now mayor Vicent Grimalt promised campaign is formed by people from the neighborhood and not by technical and what is decided at the Consell is carried out and "It is not these technicians and / or politicians who decide what happens in the neighborhood". They have full confidence in the creation of this body and ask them to those responsible for public administration and non-Medien "Tell us what we want to hear, and then do nothing".

the transfer of power from the old to the new directive today is done. The new will be chaired by the aforementioned Paulina Silvestre, who will replace Javier Ruiz, and will be accompanied by Adrian Mas, Emilio Egea, Jaume Soler, Quina Blanquer, Salvador Arbona, Ana Dominguez, Sonia Climent, Pamela Payer, Mari Mena, Maria José Arbona and Paqui Setien. They are all residents or owners of Les Roques, fulfilling what is required by rules of the Association of Veïns of Les Roques.
