The Nit de Sant Joan returns to Dénia without restrictions and without bonfires on the beach

21 June 2022 - 12: 27

Next Thursday, June 23, the coast of Dénia is expected to be filled with families and friends who are going to celebrate the traditional Nit de Joan Center near the sea. Summer will be welcomed, as usual, with rituals such as jumping the waves. However, little else can be skipped, since the bonfires will not be invited to the appointment.

This morning the presentation of the police device for the summer took place in the Dénia town hall, in which it was discussed how both the Local and National Police faced this coming night of June 23. After two years of pandemic, the beach will finally be open to welcome all those who want to celebrate the holiday.

Anti-bonfire device and bottles

Now, it should be remembered that it is forbidden to make bonfires along the entire coastline. To avoid this, an information campaign will be carried out through the public address system of the beaches during that day. In addition, there will be a special surveillance device, with three patrols from the Local Police and six from the National Police in the afternoon, which will become six and five, respectively, at sunset. Aerial surveillance will also be carried out with the drone along the beach during the last hours of the day to locate the accumulation of materials for possible bonfires.

Likewise, they have recalled that the consumption of alcoholic beverages on the beach is prohibited, so the practice of bottle drinking will not be allowed and action will be taken to avoid it. The National Police will have a van with equipment to deter altercations.

Avoid any flame before the red alert

On this occasion there will be a special focus on avoiding the use of any pyrotechnic element and flying lanterns, or Chinese lanterns, which have become popular in recent years. They have insisted that our area is still on red alert for fires, so any spark must be prevented from reaching the plant areas.

And these were the FORBIDDEN TO PROHIBIT. The PSPV has lost the north. Pedro and Vicent are sinking socialism and bringing us to the ppvox that will devastate the next ones. At most, some plover will throw you away.

  2. Jose says:

Every god has enjoyed these parties with their bonfires as they should except us…VIcent is going to vote for Rita la cantaora…You're so bad, something bad has happened to you in this life…

  3. Elena says:

This mayor grows embittering people with senseless and anti-popular prohibitions. What is this man about?

  4. Ken Brown says:

So here we have another tradition destroyed by the overzealous 'politicians' at Denia council. St Juan, celebrated for ages with fires on the beach and drinks with family and friends, only this time without bonfires and an alcohol ban. No reason given. One can only guess at the fury these people felt when their beloved ´pandemic´ ended, and with that all their newly found powers to restrict and mask the population. So now there will be a massive police presence with drones to check for criminals who light fires or drink alcohol, while the rest of the Spanish coast celebrates St. Juan as usual. It is time for these nanny state fascists to be voted out soon and be replaced by actual people who care for this community.

    • Luis says:

You have no idea what you're saying. Another who comes here and thinks he knows "the traditions"...basically what interests you, drinking and partying.

  5. Bullfight says:

I can not believe it!! It is a tradition although I suppose you will do it so as not to clean up afterwards because it is the most abandoned and dirty beach on the coast thanks to the many politicians who take everything

    • Claudio says:

You said it, it is the dirtiest and most abandoned, and that Denia is the capital of the Marina Alta, it is a shame..

    • Luis says:

Who throws their garbage on the beach? That the City Council does not clean? true, but what about the people who treat the beach like a dunghill, what? You can go and have a nice time, collect your bottles, plastic bags etc. and throw them yourself in the trash or in the nearest container. But no, people leave everything in the sand waiting for "Papa Ayuntamiento" to clean it up.

  6. Jose says:

Well, clowns from the local administration…I'm prohibiting even the very ones…reading a bit of libertarian authors…the world that you make for us you are giving to your children…a world worse thanks to so many prohibitions…tonight I will bonfire…like my parents and my grandparents…you will come and fine me…but you will pay it yourself…because I am going to continue with the fire lit. Your coercive device comes out of my taxes and your salary too.

    • Marc says:

Why exactly is this prohibited? Due to COVID, I had a pass even though it was outdoors. Why is this time? Climate change, smoke, the Galapagos tortoise? What's the excuse this time? No, it is for not spending a few thousand euros on cleaning that money is for plugged in and bums of various types.

  7. Isidoro says:

How can it be that even in Valencia you can make bonfires and in Denia you can't! With the pandemic with an excuse, okay, but now what is the excuse?

    • Bullfight says:

I can not believe it!! It is a tradition although I suppose you will do it so as not to clean up afterwards because it is the most abandoned and dirty beach on the coast thanks to the many politicians who take everything

  8. TT says:

Luis, what a bitter life you have, right?

    • Luis says:

I live in my country very well, I have not gone to another fleeing embittered from mine looking for «The Mediterranean lifestyle» alcoholic foreigner vision.

  9. Enric says:

City Hall with meaningless and tremendously unpopular measures. What they give you

  10. Maria says:

    How many prohibitions!!!

  11. Olena says:

The previous two years there was no nah because of the pandemic, okay, we swallowed it and waited. Now that the pandemic excuse is gone, they tell us again no because of the risk of fire... And nothing ever happened...
Instead of putting so many policemen, if they are so worried that they should put more firefighters and let people enjoy the few good things that are left in life!!!

    • Luis says:

Do you ask for more firefighters? And more cleaning staff I suppose that would also be good for you, right? Sad that you ask for more people to “take care of you” and that you consider this celebration to be one of the few good things left in life. What an empty life. Have you tried discovering more enriching activities at a cultural, social and family level?

      • faustino says:

Goodbye, Louis. It is clear that if I were a divorced communist like you, with problems of complexes x dick and x work, without friends or social environment, I would still be looking for activities that would fill your empty life but normal people, standardized people, like this Olena see in this something enriching act for their way of being. She will surely be surrounded by friends, children, girlfriends, boyfriends, as we all do. Seeing that you have only made critical and bad comments about everything that is posted, you should leave this page to give your opinion on others. It is clear that you do not have a pleasant environment. Salu2.

        • Luis says:

Do you read all my comments Faustino? I understand that they bother you so much. They only show the truth of what is there without the childish filter that you like to use. As for your assumptions, disqualifications and personal prejudices towards me because of my way of thinking. Don't you like that there are people who think differently and who also have the ability to express it? Is that true? You have very bad freedom of opinion and thought. And if you are not able to respect that, do not come giving moral lessons about what is right or wrong.

      • Christian says:

        Traditions are culture too!!!!!!

    • Light says:

A shame, really. It is a very nice family celebration with a long tradition. In addition, it is a reason to clean the beaches, for a change….

  12. Patrick Gonzalez says:

Without shame…we have been waiting for 3 years…and we have friends who have come from abroad especially for this party…
    No comment ...

    • Luis says:

Well, you can go to those foreign countries to do it. Are celebrations like this allowed there? No one stops them then.

    • Jose says:

Well, clowns from the local administration…I'm prohibiting even the very ones…reading a bit of libertarian authors…the world that you make for us you are giving to your children…a world worse thanks to so many prohibitions…tonight I will bonfire…like my parents and my grandparents…you will come and fine me…but you will pay it yourself…because I am going to continue with the fire lit. Your coercive device comes out of my taxes and your salary too.

      • Bullfight says:

What they don't want is to spend money cleaning up afterwards like the rest of the beach, which has more taxes every year and is dirtier….
