La Nao Victoria and the schooner Cervantes Saavedra will dock in Dénia during the XII Nautical Show

The Marina Marina de Denia last days the details of the twelfth edition of the Boat Show, which will be held at its facilities between the 1 and the 5 in May.

This year, the Boat Show promises to be "the most active and participatory", according to its director, Gabriel Martínez. For this, they have introduced as a main novelty an extensive program of talks and activities.

During the Boat Show you can visit the Nao Victoria, a replica of the ship in which Juan Sebastián Elcano took the first round the world. But it will not be the only vessel that can be visited. The schooner Cervantes Saavedra will also dock in the port, a ship of 50 meters in length launched at 1934, which was a lighthouse ship of the northern seas. In this case, the schooner can be visited during the 1 day in May.

Summary of program activities

On Wednesday 1 of May at 11 hours will officially open the hall. Access is completely free and the schedule, uninterrupted, from 10 to 20 hours. Every day, there will be catamaran departures to the Cabo de San Antonio Marine Reserve, to the 10, 11: 30 and 13 hours. This year the tickets have a reduced price, two euros for adults and one euro for children. The collection will go to different associations of Dénia.

As it was done last year, in this edition will also be the service of tourist train, which for free will bring visitors to the lounge from three stops in the center of the city.

From 10 to 14 hours and from 16 to 20 hours there will be children's workshops, led by the Idemar Belharra Association. Also during that time you can visit the Nao Victoria, protagonist of the first round the world, with the Center for Nautical Activities perform paddle surfing baptisms or Hawaiian canoe, sea trials with the different clubs that are part of Dénia Marina and activities and demonstrations with the Red Cross.

There will also be an art show "El Mar", in the gallery of Marina de Dénia. On Thursday and Friday they will be dedicated to the colleges and institutes. The Carmelitas school will make a theatrical performance dedicated to the sea. And, together with Creama, different talks will be held so that students can check the different professional opportunities that the sea has.

The weekend will be more directed to families. There will be a rescue drill with helicopter Sasemar, gymkhana marinera, the release of the turtle, rescue exhibition with Newfoundland dogs, in charge of Marenostrum, Flyboard exhibition, with Tsunami and painting workshops for children. This year, as a novelty, is the large number of talks that have been organized. Nao Victoria, Gulet Cervantes Saavedra, the Fishermen's Association, Ecoalf, Varadero Port Dénia, Creama, Anpper, Anen, Anavre, Red Cross, Dénia Coastguard, Voluntaris de la Mar Association, Balearia, Rafa Andarias, Bruno Ruiz and Alex Pella will give talks during the contest.

Fifty confirmed exhibitors

The XII Nautical Show Dénia will feature the participation of fifty professional exhibitors, this year with the trades of the sea as a motto.

Gabriel Martínez recalled that "We are fortunate to have 2.000 moorings which makes Dénia a power in this activity. The rest of the economic sectors of our country grow to 2% and the blue economy is growing at 10%. We have at home a sector with a lot employment capacity and wealth and we must ensure that our young people access it ".
