The l'Escola de la Mar and sports cooperation were the socialist proposals in its sports day

The dianenses Socialists celebrated their fifth day participatory facing the development of its government program, this time focused on the world of sport. After it, drew a map of the current situation of sports in Denia and conclusions that allow them to trace a path in which to work towards an efficient, effective and consensual sports policy.

It was inaugurated by Juan Antonio Mestre, Doctor in Sports Science from the University of Valencia. His talk was about the need to build a local sports policy in constant contact with all those involved in the field, through formal networks.

After his presentation, Antonio Perles coordinated a round table in which Agustín Mossi, former director of the Football School, Fernando Sendra, of the Tururac tourism company and Ricard Pérez of the Fundació participated Baleària.

Among the topics discussed was the need for involvement of schools and users in decision-making, the proportionality of subsidies among major sports and minority interests, the use of physical activity events as a tourist attraction and a change of mentality through education in schools that seeks to inculcate social values ​​at an early age, which go beyond the competition.

The debate revolved around two proposals, mainly: the creation of a School of the Sea, in which to promote minority maritime sports and bring various fishing gears closer to young people; and promote sports management among the peoples of the Marina Alta, which allows small towns to refer to an inter-municipal entity certain services that they cannot afford due to limited resources. In this way, the management of schools and facilities for physical activity would go from being internal and local, to external and regional, creating a new way of approaching decisions.

Attending the day sport

Several assistants, physical activity linked to the city, denounced the situation of helplessness in which many dianenses clubs. They complained about the lack of attention they have and asked that they would at least listen. They also expressed their disappointment at the absence in this day of sports council, Sisco Signes.

The candidate for mayor, Vicent Grimalt, positively valued the contributions of the attendees to draw together sports policies. Grimalt stressed that the purpose of the meeting was to listen to the demands of clubs and citizens to analyze them and later translate them into a true municipal sports policy.

From Socialist ranks they have confirmed that in a few weeks the candidate will meet personally with clubs and sports associations of the city to deepen the proposals from the day.
