The labor integration of people with disabilities is made visible in an exhibition

15 September 2017 - 17: 37

Fifteen photographs are to blame for the great public getting to know the importance of the labor integration of people with functional diversity. V15IONES: stories of self-improvement, is an exhibition created by the SIFU group whose objective is to bring the spectator closer to the day-to-day of the collective of people with functional diversity, showing their capacities and their normalization in the work environment.

Sportsman, doctor, singer or gardener are some of the professions that play the fifteen protagonists of the exhibition. They are anonymous or known characters, as is the case of Juan Manuel Montilla (El Langui), who normally develop their profession despite their disability. Photojournalists Quim Puig and Romuald Gallofré, authors of the photographs, have perfectly captured the essence of the protagonists, inviting the viewer to enter their daily life and to "discover" a disability that in most cases is invisible.

The exhibition can be visited in the Municipal House of Culture of Dénia, where last Thursday they met Salvador Cintas, Key Area Manager of Grupo SIFU in Levante, Baleares and Canarias, and a representation of different local associations of the disability field. The exhibition, which will remain open to the public until the 23 in September, is adapted for the blind with descriptive audio guides and the incorporation of objects related to some of the photographs and from which, through the sense of touch, can explain what which is seen in the image.
