The image of Santissima Sang Dénia again at Easter

Since a little over a month ago the image of the Sang Santíssima left the main altar of the Church of the Monastery of Our Lady of Loreto, the carving has been the subject of studies and restoration work that is now in its final stretch.

The piece is now in the Restoration Laboratory of the Provincial de Alicante after being examined at the Hospital of Castellón, where he conducted a TAC to examine the inside of the sculpture in order to meet the connecting elements, depth and extension of the cracks or breaks and the condition of the support.

During this time he has also been tested with UV light and has been taken microscopic samples of different significant areas.

The piece, an anonymous carving made entirely in a single block of cypress wood, with a size of natural, polychrome and worked accurately measure is dated in the late seventeenth or early eighteenth century, and it is expected that by the end of the month Dénia again in March to participate in the processions of Holy Week.
